Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is a British born American guitar vocalist who played as the lead vocalist of The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They gained attention for their provocative songs and punk-rock design. While the group was not success within their home country of the United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Ford's solo heavy metal career proved successful following the split of the band. After receiving voice lessons, she released her first solo album "Out for Blood" followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Ford did not achieve anything with either of them and remained out of the realm of rock for about a decade. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' came out in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. However, the success of her career was not long-lasting and for several years she disappeared. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later it was back in the spotlight. In 2016, she released her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
