Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to two actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Two of her earliest television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed the character. She was not allowed to start acting by her parents until she reached an adulthood stage, because they were concerned about the anxiety it could create. Perry was a shy teenager and didn't act. The actress began her acting career at Northwestern University to gain friends when she moved to the university from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University moved in New York in search of acting roles on television. Perry was able to land small roles on shows such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But, her home-sickness drove her to California to find theater work. In 2013, she appeared in The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. In 2015 she performed alongside her father and Kevin McKidd in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning film Anna Christie on the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble in West Los Angeles. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. Her father portrayed her in The ABC drama Scandal. The same year, she played a young model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother in a younger version. The actress was chosen for the role despite her close familial connection to the character.
