Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired style. Although the band was not popular on the scene in their home country of the United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career in the world of heavy metal. She began taking voice classes and then released her first album "Out For Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" on the Edge. Ford was absent from the scene for some time after her albums didn't become popular. In 1988, she released her hit album "Lita". The track "Kiss My Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" became huge hit songs. However, her fame was temporary, and she was gone for several years. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, she reemerged. 2016 saw the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". The singer was honored with The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
