Lita Rossana Ford is a British-born American singer, guitarist and songwriter. The latter half of the 1970s she played as the lead guitarist for the hard-rocking all-girl group The Runaways. While the group did not have much success in the United States but they enjoyed huge popularity internationally. It was particularly true in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. She took voice lessons and then released her debut solo album , 'Out for Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. The albums of Ford were not particularly well-received and she stayed away for a couple of years. She returned with a bang in 1988 with her wildly successful album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her most popular songs. Unfortunately her popularity was only brief, and she went under the radar for a few years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, she returned. The most recent album 'Time Capsule was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
