Lita Rossana Ford (also also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They gained attention for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired design. Although the band did not achieve much success in America, they were hugely popular in other countries. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford had a long and successful career as a solo artist after the group split together in 1979. After taking vocal lessons she debuted her own solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford disappeared from rock for a few years following the albums did not become popular. In 1988, Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits.
