Lita Rossana Ford Also known as Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer who was born in the UK. She was a lead guitarist as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls from the 1970s. Their punk rock music and raunchy lyrics made them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The group was not able to achieve major success within their home country of the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal was successful after the 1979 split of the band. She took voice lessons and then released her debut solo album 'Out for Blood then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford was unable to achieve anything with either of them and was largely absent from the world of rock for about an entire decade. She returned with a bang with her hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. Re-emerging with release of "Black" from 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland", almost fifteen years later. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Time Capsule, was released. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend award.
