Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford is a British-born American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who played lead guitar of the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed in the rock world. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo musician after the group broke up up in 1979. She took voice lessons and released her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. The two albums didn't have much success, and Ford just vanished from the world of rock for a few years. In 1988, Ford returned to the world of music by releasing a dazzling album titled 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she vanished from the music industry for a few years. In 1995, she released "Black," and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her most recent album of studio work "Time Capsule". Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
