Lita Rossana Ford (also called Lita Ford is an American musician, singer and guitarist who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of females in the late 1970s. Their punk rock music and raunchy lyrics made them recognized by the rock world. It wasn't possible for The Runaways to become a major hit in America but they gained a lot of popularity in other countries and in particular Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal proved successful following the split of the band. After taking lessons in singing, she released her solo debut album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford's albums were not very well-received and she stayed away for a few years. The smash hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in the year 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. But her fame was only short-lived and she vanished from the industry for several years. In 1995, she dropped "Black," and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. In 2016, she released her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
