Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. The group was admired for their rebellious lyrics and punk-inspired style. It was not possible for the band to be an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of popularity in other countries particularly Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo heavy metal musician after the group broke up from 1979. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' On the Edge and was followed by the record Out for Blood. Ford did not achieve any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for about an entire decade. The hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she vanished from the industry for several years. Her return came with the release of 'Black in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland nearly 15 years after. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
