Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band didn't have any fans in The United States. However, their fame grew internationally and especially in Japan. Ford's solo metal career proved successful following the group break-up. She took vocal lessons and recorded her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after her albums didn't be a huge success. The smash hit 'Lita' came out in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. The popularity of her was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she returned. The year was 2016, and her most recent album, 'Timecapsule', was released. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
