Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford as she is more commonly known as was an American born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band was not able to achieve major success in their home country of the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup of her group in 1979. After taking vocal lessons, she released her debut self-titled album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin on the Edge". Ford went missing for several time from the scene as the two albums failed to draw much attention. The year was 1988, when Ford released her smash album "Lita". The single "Kiss My Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. However, her success was brief and she disappeared from the world of music for several years. She re-emerged when she released 'Black' in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland about 15 years later. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
