Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford is a British-born American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who was the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics made them popular within the world of rock. The band was not able to make a significant impact within their home country of the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford started a metal solo career following the band's broke up in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge which was followed by her Album Out for Blood. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after both albums failed to gain much popularity. The singer returned in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The single 'Kiss Me Deadly as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both huge hits. However, her success was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for many decades. Then she returned when she released 'Black' in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' nearly 15 years after. In 2016, her latest album'Time Capsule' was released. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
