Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford, as she's most commonly referred to, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who led the women-only hard rock band The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention in their home country of the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. Ford's solo metal career was successful after the 1979 band breakup. She took voice lessons and released her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after both albums failed to be a huge success. She returned with a bang with her hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Both the track "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" became huge hit songs. The popularity of her was brief, and she went under the radar for a few years. Re-emerging with albums "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years following. in 2016, the latest album'Time Capsule' was released. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
