Lita Rossana Ford was born in the United Kingdom and was an American singer, guitarist and writer. In the late 70s she was the lead guitarist for the hard-rocking All-girl group The Runaways. The band was not able to gain a lot of attention on the scene in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in heavy metal. Following vocal training, she released her solo debut album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford was absent from the scene for a few years following both albums failed to be a huge success. She returned with a bang in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The lead track "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were huge hits. Her success was unfortunately brief and after a couple of additional years she was absent. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards she reemerged. Her most recent album "Time Capsule," launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
