Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford as she is popularly known as, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who led the women-only hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group wasn't successful on the scene in the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. After the band split in 1979, Ford began a successful solo career with heavy metal. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Her albums weren't very popular and she went on hiatus for several years. The hit album "Lita" was launched by Ford in the year 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became big hit songs. The popularity of her was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. Then she returned with the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' nearly 15 years after. Her most recent album 'Time Capsule was released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
