Lita Rossana Ford was born in Britain and was an American singer, guitarist as well as music writer. In the latter part of the 70s, she played as the guitarist in the hard rocking all-girl band The Runaways. The band was not able to achieve major success in The United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career with heavy metal. She began to take voice lessons followed by her first album "Out For Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Both albums failed to receive much success and Ford disappeared out of the scene for a few years. The year was 1988, when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she returned. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
