Lita Rossana Ford, also known as Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls in late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and rebellious lyrics got them noticed by the rock community. While the group was not popular on the scene in the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and successful career as a solo performer after the band split together in 1979. She began to take voice lessons followed by her first album "Out to Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Her albums weren't very successful and she disappeared for several years. In 1988, she came back to the music scene with a smashing album called 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, the success of her career wasn't lasting and over the course of several years, she was absent. In 1995 she debuted "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
