Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford, as she's most commonly referred to as was an American born British guitarist and singer who led the women-only hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. It wasn't possible for the group to be an instant hit in the United States, but they gained a lot of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford's solo heavy metal career had a great success following the band breakup. Her debut album as a solo artist was called 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. The two albums didn't get much attention and Ford just vanished from the world of rock for a couple of years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in the year 1989. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever were both big success. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she was absent from the industry for several years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she reemerged. The year was 2016, and her most recent album'Time Capsule' was released. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
