Lita Rossana Ford often referred to as Lita Ford, is a British American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who served as the lead guitarist of the all-girl rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics made them popular within the world of rock. While the group did not achieve much success in America but they enjoyed huge popularity internationally. This was especially true in Japan. Ford had a long and successful career as a solo heavy metal performer after the band split from 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album 'Out for Blood and 'Dancin' On the Edge. The two albums didn't get much attention and Ford was largely absent from the world of rock for several years. The year was 1988, when she released her hit album "Lita". The lead track "Kiss Me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. However, the popularity of her career wasn't lasting and over the course of several years she went under the radar. Re-emerging with albums "Black" from 1995 and "Wicked Wonderland", almost 15 years after. The album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016 by her. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
