Lita Rossana Ford, also known as Lita Ford is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar as a member of The Runaways, a hard-rock group comprised of girls from the 1970s. Their punkish music and raunchy lyrics made them noticed by the rock community. The band did not enjoy an enormous following within their home country of the United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and prosperous career as a heavy-metal solo performer after the band split together in 1979. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her record Out for Blood. Both the albums did not get much attention and Ford just vanished out of the scene for a few years. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. Both the single "Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hits. However, the popularity of her career wasn't last long and after a few years, she was absent. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she reemerged. The most recent album "Time Capsule," released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
