Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford, is a British American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who played lead guitar of the all-girl rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed within the world of rock. Though the group didn't make much progress in America, they were hugely popular internationally. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. After taking vocal lessons, she released her first single album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Ford's albums were not very well-received and she stayed away for a couple of years. In 1988, she came back to the scene with an amazing album titled 'Lita. The song "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. However, her success was only temporary and she was absent from the music industry for several years. Her re-emergence was with the albums "Black" from 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" nearly fifteen years later. In 2016, her most recent album, 'Timecapsule', was made available. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
