Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is more commonly known, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. Although the band did not make much progress in America but they enjoyed huge popularity internationally. That was the case especially in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career with heavy metal. After taking lessons in singing, she debuted her own solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin' On The Edge'. The two albums didn't have much success, and Ford disappeared from the world of rock for a couple of years. The singer returned in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita which was released in 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both huge hit songs. However, her success was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for many years. In 1995, she released "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
