Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the lead in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punkish style. The band was never able to the band to be an instant hit in the United States, however they did gain a fair amount of attention in other countries and in particular Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career after the band was disbanded in 1979. She took voice lessons and then released her debut solo album , 'Out For Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Both the albums did not receive much success and Ford disappeared out of the scene for a couple of years. It was 1988 when Ford released her smash album "Lita". The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became big hits. Unfortunately, her popularity was short-lived and she remained absent from the industry for several years. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. The album she released most recently 'Time Capsule was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend award.
