Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all females in the late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and raunchy lyrics made them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. Although the band did not achieve much success in America however they became extremely popular in other countries. This was especially true in Japan. Ford was able to enjoy a long and successful career as a heavy-metal solo musician after the group broke up up in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' On the Edge which was followed by her Album Out for Blood. Her albums weren't very successful and she disappeared for a few years. It was 1988 when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both were huge hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for a couple of years. After releasing 'Black, in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, she returned. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
