Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is popularly known, was an American-born British guitarist and singer who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band was not able to make a significant impact within their home country of the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. She began to take voice lessons and then released her first album "Out For Blood", followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford disappeared from rock for several years after both albums failed to become popular. The smash hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were two of her most popular hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for a few years. In 1995, she dropped 'Black' and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. The album she released was Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
