Lita Rossana Ford often referred to as Lita Ford is a British American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who played lead guitar of the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics allowed them to be noticed within the world of rock. While the group was not success on the scene in The United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford's solo heavy metal career was successful after the 1979 split of the band. She began to take voice lessons and then released her first album "Out for Blood", followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford disappeared for a few time from the scene as the two albums failed to draw the attention they deserved. Ford returned to the scene in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita which was released in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her biggest songs. However, her fame was temporary, and she was gone for several years. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
