Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford as she is more commonly known as was an American born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band didn't have an enormous following within the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. Ford's solo career in heavy metal proved successful following the band breakup. Following vocal training, she released her solo debut album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford did not achieve any success with either record and remained out of the realm of rock for about 10 years. It was 1988 when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both were huge hits. However, the popularity of her career was not lasting and over the course of several years, she was absent. In 1995, she dropped "Black" and fifteen years later , she released 'Wicked. in 2016, the latest album, 'Time Capsule, was released. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
